Tara C. Woebbe is a native New Yorker who has experience in local, state and international politics and public service. She has worked for former New York State Senator Serphin R. Maltese, representing the 15th Senate District in Queens. In this capacity, Ms. Woebbe worked in both the legislative office in Albany and the Queens district offices. While in this position, Ms. Woebbe coordinated Senate-sponsored community events, liaised with city and state agencies, and tracked constituent interests in particular legislation and issues to best represent the needs of the communities within the district. As an intern with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in London, England, a democracy-building organization, Ms. Woebbe was given unprecedented exposure to democracy-building strategies with political parties in Eastern Europe and Africa and was responsible for organizing many high-profile seminars and events, including the WFD international delegation for the Conservative Party Conference. During her tenure, she was also a part of a team of international observers participating in a week-long campaign leading up to the general elections of 2006. Ms. Woebbe was a Presidential Scholar at Siena College and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration on Globalization Studies, and a minor in Criminal Justice. She is a frequent community volunteer and currently works with the Swim Strong Foundation, a “not for profit organization dedicated to inspire youth to achieve their potential through competitive swimming.”
